Henrik Sedin hurt on hit from behind as Canucks-Islanders gets nasty

BROOKLYN, NY -- The Vancouver Canucks suffered a big loss Sunday before the first period was even over against the New York Islanders.

Team captain Henrik Sedin was injured late in the opening period when shoved from behind into the side boards by Islander Mikhail Grabovski, who was assessed a major penalty for boarding and a game misconduct.

A minute after that incident, Vancouver rookie Jared McCann chopped New York captain John Tavares on the shoulder and was probably lucky to receive only a minor penalty for high-sticking.

McCann appeared to get forked in the stomach by Tavares as the Islander hooked him behind the play.
