Four goals only gets Canucks one point in Florida

SUNRISE, Fla. — Merry Christmas, hockey fans.

You wanted goals? Well, the Florida Panthers and Vancouver Canucks gave you plenty of them Sunday. For two periods, anyway.

Unfortunately, the Canucks came up a goal short as they fell 5-4 in a shootout in what was something of a wild and crazy game at the BB&T Center.

And it wasn’t just the way the teams traded goals and the lead. The Panthers won it on two shootout goals scored on two different Vancouver goalies.

Starter Ryan Miller left the game in considerable discomfort after Brandon Pirri scored on Florida’s first shootout attempt.
