Well, the city of Vancouver needed and deserved a hero (don’t mind The Dark Knight references), following the dismal 2013-14 season. Head coach John Tortorella and general manager Mike Gillis were fired, and fan favorite Ryan Kesler was traded to the Anaheim Ducks.
2019 will mark eight years since this team last won a playoff series. It’s been four years since the Canucks last made the playoffs.
