BOSTON — Against the team that inflicted his greatest disappointment as a player, Daniel Sedin became the leading goal-scorer in Vancouver Canuck history when his team beat the Boston Bruins 4-2 here Thursday.
Sedin chipped a rebound from Chris Tanev’s shot past goalie Tuukka Rask to break a 2-2 tie at 7:03 of the third period and also break Markus Naslund’s franchise record of 346 goals as a Canuck. Sedin then added an empty-netter for goal No. 348.
Naslund, who left Canucks in 2008, was one of Sedin’s mentors in the National Hockey League and helped convince his fellow Swede to stay after a difficult transition to North American hockey.
