ANAHEIM, Calif. – A garbage goal by Adam Cracknell and a beautiful night by goalie Ryan Miller carried the Vancouver Canucks to a 2-1 shootout victory Monday against the Anaheim Ducks.
Radim Vrbata and Alex Burrows scored in the shootout for the Canucks, the second goal the game-winner as Burrows’ wrist shot squeezed under Ducks’ goalie Frederik Andersen and trickled across the goal line.
Miller made 28 saves in the first 65 minutes and two more in the shootout and has been the Canucks’ best player through three games. He has stopped 92 of 97 shots and is probably responsible for at least two points so far.
