VANCOUVER — A Vancouver Canucks’ pre-draft deal fell through with San Jose last Friday, but they found a taker for defenceman Kevin Bieksa on Tuesday, sending him to the Anaheim Ducks for a second-round pick in next summer’s entry draft.
"We would like to thank Kevin and his wife Katie for their incredible commitment to this team and community," general manager Jim Benning said in a statement. "It's always a difficult decision to trade a player who's been such a big part of an organization for so long and we wanted to make sure we did what was best for both Kevin and the Canucks.
