Canucks lose Brandon Sutter for four to six weeks

The Vancouver Canucks, coming off yet another overtime loss (this time, a 2-1 setback in Los Angeles to the Kings) on Tuesday night, delivered some more unwelcomed news to their fans today when they announced centre Brandon Sutter will be sidelined for the next four to six weeks.

The 26-year-old second-line pivot underwent surgery to repair a sports hernia on Tuesday.

“Following a period of treatment and evaluation our medical team determined that the best course of action for Brandon was to perform this procedure,” general manager Jim Benning said in a statement. “The surgery was successful and we expect a full recovery.
