For many of the folks who thought the Vancouver Canucks had nothing left to play for this season, you would be incorrect. With 69 points to play and three games remaining in their dismal 2016-17 campaign, there is still plenty at stake for the Canucks.
They’ll visit the 29th-placed Arizona Coyotes on Thursday night, and Vancouver is currently the third-worst team in the NHL. What does this all mean? A regulation win for the Coyotes will move Vancouver down to second-last in the NHL.
That would give them roughly a 12 percent chance of winning the draft lottery — after being screwed over big-time last year.
