WASHINGTON, D.C. — After 5½ years in professional hockey, this is Alex Biega's first trip to Washington. Naturally, he went to see the White House.
"I thought it was going to be a little bigger," he said.
Just wait until he sees Alex Ovechkin.
The Washington Capitals' superstar, who just scored his 500th and 501st National Hockey League goals at age 30, will be a handful tonight for Biega and the Vancouver Canucks (4 p.m. Pacific time, on Sportsnet Pacific and Sportsnet 360, TSN 1040).
Biega, who turns 28 in April, is crossing cities and players off his bucket list these days after finally getting his first extended run of NHL duty.
