NASHVILLE — The end, mercifully, came at 6:52 of the first period when Bo Horvat did the unthinkable. He scored.
Then something really extraordinary happened. The Vancouver Canucks scored again.
Unfortunately, this story does not have a happy ending. The Canucks could not hold onto a 2-0 third-period lead Thursday night and fell 3-2 in a shootout to the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena. The Canucks have now lost six straight games.
Craig Smith scored the shootout winner for the Predators.
Horvat’s goal came on a rebound off a Sven Baertschi shot. You could almost hear the collective sigh of relief from the Canucks’ bench.
