MONTREAL – Overtime is a bad time for the Vancouver Canucks.
After blowing a three-goal lead – and another third-period lead – the Canucks lost 4-3 in overtime Monday when David Desharnais scored on a 3-on-2 at 3:25 of overtime. The lost dropped the Canucks to 0-6 in games decided by the National Hockey League’s new 3-on-3 overtime.
The Canadiens tied it 3-3 with 3:08 remaining when Tomas Fleishmann chipped the puck past stationary defencemen Ben Hutton, retrieved it and rattled a shot through the body and right arm of Canuck goalie Jacob Markstrom.
Having blown a three-goal lead, the Canucks were probably grateful to make it to overtime, despite their record.
