VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Canucks have lost centre Adam Cracknell, who has been claimed on waivers by the Edmonton Oilers.
Cracknell played a career-high 44 games with the Canucks this season, registering five goals and 10 points. Cracknell, 30, was a surprise to make the team out of training camp and spent much of the season filling the fourth-line centre role.
The Oilers will be Cracknell's fourth NHL team.
Cracknell's departure should free up more ice time for rookie centre Jared McCann, who has been a healthy scratch in four of Vancouver's last 12 games.
