On March 25, President José Padilla announced in an email to the campus community that Director of Athletics Charles Small has decided to step down from his position, effective immediately.
Padilla states in his message:
“Today I am writing to share the bittersweet news that Charles Small has decided to step down as the University’s Director of Athletics to pursue new opportunities for him and his family … I want to thank Charles for his hard work and wish him and his family the very best in their next chapter.”
Laurel Hosmer, the Deputy Athletic Director for Revenue Generation and Senior Woman Administrator, has been tabbed to serve as the interim Athletic Director while the university searches for a permanent replacement for Small.
