During my time here at Valpo, I have been blessed to be a member of the women’s volleyball team for three years, going on four. I have gotten to enjoy the true student-athlete experience, from going on fun travel trips, playing in front of big crowds at the Valpo Athletics-Recreation Center (ARC) and getting to play alongside amazing athletes every day at practice. However, I never knew what the experience was like from a different perspective: coaching.
This year I have had the opportunity to coach a 14U club team out of Valparaiso. The girls on this team range in different levels of experience, from having several years of playing under their belts, to just now picking up a ball for the first time.
