As the matches commenced, the alumni team on court one served first, winning a close first game 40-30. However, the current players served two aces in a row and ultimately won that game 40-15. With talent and skill on both sides, close rallies forced each game to be played with intensity, and many of them came down to the last point. However, in the end, the Valpo Tennis team prevailed over the alumni in the tournament.
Although he was not playing, Valpo alumnus Alan LeFevre ‘82 watched the matches as he recalled his days as a student at Valpo.
