TCU’s Curtis Luper expected to interview for UTSA job

SAN ANTONIO — TCU assistant Curtis Luper is expected to interview for the UTSA football head coaching job within the next few days.

Luper could be one of as many as six candidates to interview for the position that came open Tuesday when Larry Coker stepped down.

Sources have indicated that others in the mix are former Kentucky coach Hal Mumme and Houston co-defensive coordinator Craig Naivar.

UTSA is expected to conduct the interviews during the American Football Coaches Association convention in San Antonio next week.

With his ties to coach Gary Patterson and one of the hottest Power Five conference programs in the nation, Luper is considered one of the stronger candidates.
