SAN ANTONIO — Former UTSA track and field standout Teddy Williams is headed for Super Bowl 50 as a member of the NFC champion Carolina Panthers.
“It’s just a great feeling to be a part of a team that feels like family,” Williams said in a text to the Express-News late Sunday night. “It’s just a great culture to be a part of. (You) truly go out and fight for your brother next to you.”
Carolina will play the AFC champion Denver Broncos for the NFL title on Feb. 7 in Santa Clara, California.
In the first of two conference championship games Sunday afternoon, the Broncos won the AFC crown with a 20-18 victory over the New England Patriots.
