NACOGDOCHES — UTSA was edged by Stephen F. Austin on Sunday by a score of 4-3 and it ended its season-opening road trip with a split of its two matches.
The Roadrunners (1-1) jumped out in front early by securing the doubles point.
Jacobea Junger and Miriam Rosell Canudas downed Lauren Hidalgo-Smith and Dhanielly Quevado, 6-1, at the top spot of the lineup, but Vanesa Calvo Pardo and Denise Maxl even things up with a 6-1 triumph on the second court against Nicole Karaklis and Alena Shichkova. Lina Hallgren and Charlene Tiwari clinched the point with their 6-4 win against Liza Aginskaya and Valeria Terentyeva at the third position.
