Scelfo mentioned for UTSA offensive coordinator job

SAN ANTONIO — Frank Scelfo, a senior offensive assistant for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, has been mentioned as a possible candidate to become the offensive coordinator at UTSA.

A highlight in Scelfo’s career came in 2010 and 2011 when he worked as quarterbacks coach and tutored Nick Foles at the University of Arizona.

Foles, a former Austin Westlake standout, became a 2012 NFL third-round draft pick.

After a year out of football, Scelfo took a job as quarterbacks coach with with the NFL’s Jaguars in 2013. He served as quarterbacks coach in Jacksonville for two years.
