SAN ANTONIO — UTSA received three solid performances from Dusan Makevic (3,000m), Jurmarcus Shelvin (400m) and its distance medley relay team at last weekend's season-opening Texas A&M 11-Team Invitational and all three registered marks that currently rank among the top 20 nationally.

Makevic, a senior from Sabac, Serbia, clocked a personal-best time of 8:11.85, an improvement of nearly three-and-a-half seconds from his previous top mark (8:15.27 recorded as a sophomore at Louisiana-Monroe), and that propelled him to second place on the program's all-time performance chart. That time currently ranks 11th in the country. He missed breaking Olympian Roger Soler's 31-year-old school record of 8:10.
