BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Home runs from Marena Estell and Riley Grunberg helped No. 8 seeded UTSA softball team upset No. 5 seeded Middle Tennessee 4-2 in the first round of the Conference USA Championship.
The Roadrunners were on the board in the second. With one out, Marena Estell hit the ball over the center field wall to take a 1-0 lead.
In the third, UTSA added four more runs to extend the lead. Kat Ibarra opened the frame with a single up the middle and Celeste Loughman followed with a walk.
