SAN ANTONIO — Former UTSA tight end David Morgan II said Friday afternoon that he won’t play in the East-West Shrine Game because of a knee sprain.
Morgan said in a text that he sprained the knee at a Wednesday practice.
“I finished practice and it wasn’t that sore,” Morgan said. “It’s just a little stiff and sore now so I’m just trying to be smart.”
The game is scheduled to be played Saturday afternoon in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Morgan is UTSA’s first All-American in football.
The former standout at Marble Falls made second team All-American on the USA Today squad after his senior year last fall with the Roadrunners.
