SAN ANTONIO — UTSA tight end David Morgan II on Tuesday expressed his thanks to coaches that gave him a chance five years ago to join a start-up college football program.
UTSA coaches, in turn, congratulated Morgan on becoming the first All-American in school history. Morgan, an outgoing fifth-year senior and NFL draft prospect, has been named to the USA Today All-American second team.
“Coming to UTSA, coach always said you were coming on a dream and a prayer,” Morgan said in a telephone interview. “It’s just crazy to see how everything has happened and evolved over the years.
