SAN ANTONIO — The Marshall Thundering Herd enjoyed open looks from long distance for most of the afternoon Saturday and took full advantage of the opportunities.
Guard Jon Elmore knocked down seven of his team’s 18 three-pointers as the Thundering Herd routed UTSA 109-91 in Conference USA men’s basketball at the Convocation Center.
Leading by double digits for most of the afternoon, Marshall (12-12, 8-3) rolled to 52 points in the first half and 57 after intermission.
It was the highest-scoring game against UTSA (4-20, 2-9) at home since a 107-104 overtime loss to Louisiana-Monroe in 2001.
