IRVING — Dusan Makevic was tabbed Conference USA Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
Makevic clocked a program-record 14:01.36 en route to a third-place finish in the 5,000 meters at Saturday’s John Thomas Terriers Classic in Boston, Mass. That broke the previous school standard of 14:36 that current distance coach David Hartman established back in 1995. The time not only leads C-USA, but it also currently ranks 12th in the nation.
