Hogan leads Roadrunners on first day of Lone Star Invitational

SAN ANTONIO — Brett Hogan is tied for sixth place and the UTSA men's golf team is fourth after the first day of the Lone Star Invitational, which got underway on Monday at Briggs Ranch Golf Club (par 72/7,247 yards).

Hogan carded a 2-over-par 146 and is in a four-way tie for sixth, six shots off the pace set by Ohio State's Tee-k Kelly, who posted a 4-under 140 (68-72). Hogan opened his 36-hole day with a 74 that was highlighted by a birdie on the par-4 first. The senior from Calgary, Alberta, then registered four birdies as part of an even-par effort in the afternoon to put himself in contention for his eighth career top-10 finish.
