Former Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners head coach Brooks Thompson critical with 'double organ failure'

Former NBA player and Texas-San Antonio head coach Brooks Thompson has been hospitalized in critical condition with "double organ failure."

The news was announced by Larry Reece, a senior associate athletic director for development at Oklahoma State.

The San Antonio Express-News cited a Facebook post his wife wrote concerning the illness.

"Please pray for Brooks," Michelle Thompson wrote, according to the paper. "After months of not feeling well, Brooks was rushed to the ER and diagnosed with double organ failure. The doctors told us he wouldn't live past two days! By the Grace of God and 6 days in the ICU -- Brooks has miraculously made a turn for the better.
