HOUSTON — Chante Dixon won the mile and anchored the distance medley relay to gold and Lacee Barnes finished third in the shot put with a record-setting performance to lead the UTSA women's track & field team at the H-Town SpeedCity Series II on Friday at Bill Yeoman Fieldhouse.
Making her UTSA debut, Dixon clocked a time of 5:21.33 to win the mile run just ahead of Houston's Macie Ellis (5:22.76). The freshman from South Africa returned to the oval later in the afternoon and combined with Zoie Reyna, Maddy Blair and Sofia Salinas to run a 13:17.
