IRVING — Kendall Burton was named preseason All-Conference USA, while UTSA was picked to finish fourth in the circuit, the league office announced on Wednesday.
The Missouri City native started all 54 games as a freshman a season ago and hit .363 with 43 runs scored, a team-leading 69 hits, 12 doubles, seven triples, seven homers and 42 RBIs en route to second-team All-C-USA and league All-Freshman Team honors. Her seven triples led C-USA and ranked eighth in the nation, while she also ranked among the conference’s best in total bases (116/2nd), runs (43/t-4th), hits (69/6th) and RBIs (42/t-9th).
