UTEP shooting guard Katarina Zec concluded her dominant preseason with 23 points to lead the Miners to a 59-47 victory over St. Mary's on Saturday at the Don Haskins Center.
True freshman Franklin alum Katia Gallegos had seven points, six rebounds and three assists in 24 minutes for UTEP, which beat both Division II teams it plays in its exhibition season. They open the regular season next Saturday at home against California-Riverside.
Ariona Gill, playing in her first preseason game, had 10 rebounds and nine points while Michelle Pruitt had 10 points.
