What UTEP is doing at cornerback in the opening weeks of spring practice may or may not look like what it's going to be doing in the opening weeks of September. But so far it doesn't look like anything they've done in more than half a decade.
On one side is junior Torey Richardson, last season's No. 3 corner making the next move up after Josh Caldwell and Walter Neil graduated. On the other side is redshirt freshman John Burris III, looking to be UTEP's first freshman starter at corner since Nik Needham and Kalon Beverly did it in 2015.
