The 9-2 UTEP women's basketball team looks to build on its perfect Conference USA start against one of the league's recent powers, 9-2 Rice, on Saturday in Houston.

Who is Rice?
After going through some rebuilding last year following three consecutive C-USA championships, the Owls got off to a 9-0 start this year, including a win at Texas A&M and at home against Houston and TCU, and looked to be all the way back.
Rice, however, opened conference with competitive home losses to Western Kentucky and league favorite Middle Tennessee.
