UTEP place kicker Gavin Baechle's special career and 2022 season ended with him as Conference USA's special teams player of the year.
The fifth year senior made 22 of 24 field goals this season (the third most made field goals in the country), including 22 straight while breaking the Miner career record for field goals with 58. He first broke the record against Florida Atlantic on a walk-off game-winner.
Baechle was 31-for-31 on extra points for the season, moving him to 110-111 in his career, a program record for percentage.
He is UTEP's second conference special teams player of the year, behind returner Johnnie Lee Higgens in 2006.
