Quite a bit is stacked against the UTEP women's basketball team as they get set to host UAB on Thursday.
The Miners are down to eight healthy players, as starter Ariona Gill and her replacement starter Sabine Lipe are both out with injuries. UAB is the defending league regular season champion; it has won 12 consecutive Conference USA road games and comes in 15-2.
There is, however, one thing going UTEP's way.
