A body of work that included a victory against ranked Middle Tennessee, an overtime and a last-minute loss to it, and 20 wins was enough for the UTEP women's basketball team to play on.
The Miners earned one of the 32 at-large bids to the 64-team tournament and were one of four Conference USA teams selected. The bracket and UTEP's pairing will be released Monday and the school has made it clear they wish to host a first-round game, which will be played Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
UTEP has made two previous WNITs and in 10 games has had the largest crowd in the tournament each round.
