Sabinea Lipe takes charge for UTEP Wochit
The UTEP women's basketball team that had nothing to play for dropped its regular season finale to North Texas after an 11-point Mean Green run starting late in the third quarter broke open a close game and sent North Texas to a 68-58 win.
The Miners already had a No. 7 seed in the Conference USA tournament and a game with Florida Atlantic secured before the opening tip. That game will be at 12:30 p.m. MDT Wednesday in Frisco.
