This weekend, the UTEP women's track team could make history.

The Miners' cross country team won their first conference title last fall in Boca Raton, Florida, and, against most expectations, the women's indoor track team got to do it in the winter in Birmingham, Alabama. This weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina, the UTEP women will try for the first triple crown in the history of the program at the Conference USA outdoor track and field championships.

"The only thing we need to win is to compete together as a team," said junior Winny Koech, from Iten, Kenya, who is the favorite to defend her titles in the 10,000 and 5,000 meters and is one of the biggest cogs in this season's indoor and cross-country championships.
