UTEP’s greatest-ever volleyball season just got better.
The Miners completed their march through the regional rounds of the NIVC volleyball tournament, beating host Colorado State 25-22, 12-25, 25-18, 25-19 Friday night in the second round.
UTEP earned a third-round Elite 8 game with either Portland State or Weber State at a time and place to be set later this week. That match will be Tuesday or Wednesday and UTEP could potentially host it. Should the Miners win they could also bid to host a semifinal over the weekend.
A day after beating Tulsa in their first postseason match, the Miners improved to 23-7.
