UTEP trainers adjust to new realities on front lines of COVID-19

Tony Cordova, UTEP's head football trainer, controls one of the few things he can control in the toughest of times to be an athletic trainer.

"In this job, one of the reasons we all got into this profession, there is no day that's the same," Cordova said over Zoom from his office in the Durham Center. "Every day is different. You can prepare for whatever you want to prepare for but you have no idea what's going to happen.

"From our standpoint, every athletic director in the country is able to deal with it, roll with it, do the best we can because that's the way we're trained.
