As one of the most decorated steeplechasers in NCAA history, UTEP alumnus Anthony Rotich knows the thrill of reaching a finish line.

The one the 27-year-old member of the Army Reserves hit two weeks ago might have been the most special one yet. Rotich, who came to El Paso from Kenya in 2011 and made the Sun City his home, was sworn in as an American citizen.

"It was everything to me, everything," said Rotich, a three-time NCAA national champion in the steeplechase who still lives and trains in El Paso.
