Three days after posting the best long jump in the NCAA, UTEP freshman jumper Chantoba Bright was named the Conference USA Female Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
This is the field athlete’s first outdoor honor and her second C-USA Athlete of the Week recognition of her career.
The Guyana native won the UTEP Springtime with a windy leap of 20-feet, 8-inches, and also had a 20-5 1/4 effort that is the best wind-legal NCAA jump in this one-week old outdoor season.
