El Paso loves an event, and UTEP “915” men’s basketball home opener against New Mexico State at 7 p.m. Saturday is the latest beneficiary.
UTEP, which earlier this fall started a campaign to sell out this game as part of its 915 rebranding, announced Wednesday that more than 9,000 tickets, many on sale for $9.15, have been issued. Capacity at the Don Haskins Center now is officially 11,892, so the chase for a sellout will likely go to the wire.
