Sandwiching a game against a Division II school between showdowns with New Mexico rivals isn't the best recipe for sharpness for the UTEP men's basketball team, but once again the Miners had enough answers to stay perfect.
UTEP never trailed against East Central Oklahoma, weathered several Tiger runs, but always found the gas pedal when the game got close to win 91-71 and move their record to 5-0 heading into next Tuesday's showdown with New Mexico State.
That was a similar formula to their 14-point win over Eastern New Mexico two weeks ago, right before their game with New Mexico.
