UTEP Miners Basketball: Newly eligible point guard Bieniemy optimistic for 2020-21 season

In a season filled with so much uncertainty, UTEP men's basketball coach Rodney Terry is sure of this: His team is about to get better at point guard.

That was the hope back in March when Jamal Bieniemy, a sophomore starter last season at Oklahoma, announced his transfer to UTEP. Hope started to become reality Wednesday when the NCAA granted the 6-foot-5 point guard a waiver that makes him immediately eligible for the 2020-21 season.

Later on Wednesday the NCAA announced that season will begin November 25.
