A strange UTEP men's basketball season just got stranger, as eight hours before its scheduled The Basketball Classic tipoff with Western Illinois, the game was pushed back to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Don Haskins Center.
The $10 tickets already purchased will be honored.
Western Illinois learned it would be making the trip from Macomb, Illinois to El Paso Monday morning for the opener of The Basketball Classic. "Travel issues" were cited in UTEP's announcement.
Slated as a 32-team tournament, the official website is listing 21 participants.
