UTEP's turbulent offseason continued Thursday as assistant coach Brian Burton, who came with Rodney Terry from Fresno State, revealed that he won't be back at UTEP next season, while Miner commit Brendan Wenzel tweeted that he is reopening his recruiting and won't be coming to the university.

The news comes a day after Lamont Smith resigned amid revelations he is being investigated in the nationwide college admissions bribery scandal going back to his days at the University of San Diego and a week after juniors-to-be Evan Gilyard and Kobe Magee announced expected transfers.
