The UTEP men's basketball team is poised to get bigger, as 6-foot-8 sophomore Kristian Sjolund is set to transfer from Georgia Tech, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Sjolund was highly recruited out of high Katy Tompkins in the Houston area two years ago, but played sparingly at Georgia Tech in 2018-19 and redshirted this year. He entered the transfer portal during Christmas break, but reconsidered and returned to the Yellow Jackets for the rest of the season.
Sjolund, a native of Norway who moved to Texas in 2014, entered the transfer portal again at the end of the season.
