Former Miner Evan Gilyard drives to the basket vs. Florida International.
The UTEP Miners men’s basketball team fell behind early to the University of North Texas Mean Green Saturday and never recovered. Trailing by 11 at halftime, the Miners went on to lose to North Texas 67-57.
Coming off its first road win of the Rodney Terry era, the Miners were facing a North Texas team that had won seven straight games, including four by double digits. The Mean Green has been a very balanced scoring team and has averaged a 9-point victory margin over its opponents.
