The UTEP men rose their inside game and free throws to a 30-28 halftime lead against Southern Miss at the Don Haskins Center Thursday night.
The Miners led the final 14:06 of the period, but poor shooting from 3-point range kept them from putting space between themselves and the Golden Eagles
UTEP went to the locker room 7-of-11 on two-point field goals, 13-of-13 from the free-throw line and 1-of-10 from 3-point range.
