The illustrious dream of playing college football is something that many football players yearn for, a dream that may be possibly accomplished in more ways than one. One of those ways is by trying out as a walk-on. The UTEP football team, who previously held walk-on tryouts in February, will be hosting an additional tryout session Wednesday, Sept. 28, which coincides with the sixth week of the season.
Being so far into the season, the timing of the tryouts may strike some as peculiar, but UTEP Football Director of Recruiting Jimmy Gonzales considers the timing to be a coincidence as the tryouts have been a topic of conversation between Gonzales and UTEP Head Coach Dana Dimel for quite some time.
